Point Research Ltd is an Auckland-based, independent research company. We offer a full range of social and market research services.
Our research team has a high degree of experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods on both small and larger scale projects. We work in partnership with our clients to develop responsive and innovative research designed to provide in-depth, accessible results.
We specialise in online research, consultation work, evaluations and the collection and analysis of data used for social, economic and environmental monitoring.
Perhaps the best indicator of the quality of our work is that we get repeat business from our clients. We believe this is because we work closely with our clients to ensure that they have trust and confidence in both the robustness of our approach and our advice and judgement.
The work we do includes:
- Evaluating programmes – formative, outcome and process evaluation
- Conducting survey research – developing, analysing questionnaires including the use of on-line surveys
- Conducting focus groups
- Consultation work – including community consultations
- Project management
- Analysing submissions – both in hard copy and online
- Assisting Councils to develop indicators and collect data relating to community outcomes and their Long Term Council Community Plans (LTCCPs).
Our team
Alex Woodley MA (Hons equiv) – Principal Researcher
Alex is the founder and managing director of Point Research Ltd. She is a social researcher who specialises in qualitative research and evaluation initiatives that use a community development model to influence social change. Alex is an experienced evaluator who has undertaken a range of evaluations of education, health and community-based interventions. Her expertise lies in taking the results and insights, and working with clients at a strategic level on evidence-based recommendations and solutions.
Nadine Metzger MSocSc (Hons) – Principal Researcher
Nadine is a research and evaluation consultant who has trained in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Nadine specialises in qualitative research. Her particular areas of interest include social transformation initiatives and community development. She is skilled in qualitative data analysis, particularly the identification of key themes and strategic findings, and at communicating these findings in ways which are accessible and which appeal to multiple audiences.
Nadine is also the designer and webmaster of the Parenting Research Clearinghouse

Annalise Myers
Annalise is an innovative practice consultant working with both the government and community sectors. Her work involves promoting and developing ‘best’ and ‘new’ practice approaches to improve better outcomes for families and young people. Her particular areas of interest include emerging leadership, reflective social practice and social innovation.
