This is by no means an exhaustive list of our projects. For more examples of our work, please see Recent Projects and Past Projects

Rainbow Youth National Outreach Scoping Project
For the past seven years the New Zealand Aids Foundation (NZAF) and Rainbow Youth have co-facilitated a service called ‘OUTTHERE’ designed to support queer youth nationally.
The project has helped to establish queer youth issues in the wider youth community through research projects, school-focussed safety initiatives, a bi-annual national queer youth hui called ‘KAHA’ and the Curious website (www.curious.org.nz) and text service which is continuing to be developed with assistance from NZAF and Rainbow Youth.
In 2009 the funding for the OUTTHERE project ceased.
Rainbow Youth are committed to continuing to run Kaha hui, to develop or continue research that reports on the needs of queer youth and to support the development of queer youth groups nationally.
The research seeks to build knowledge about the current needs of queer youth. In particular, the research aims to:
- Provide a set of recommendations for a role that focuses on the needs of queer youth nationally;
- Conduct a needs assessment of queer youth organisations and relevant stakeholders;
- Conduct a “stocktake” of existing research and resources; and
- Compile a current contacts and resources document
